FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything people ask before they get Screen Glide.

Screen Studio runs only on Mac, and its makers say there are no near-future plans for Windows. Screen Glide is a Windows app built for the same kind of video: it zooms in on your clicks, redraws a smooth cursor and frames your screen, ready to post.

Because it costs almost nothing to run. I built Screen Glide to make promo clips for my own app, FinPal (finpalapp.com). I wanted the smooth, zoomed videos I kept seeing on X, but the app behind them is Mac only, and the Windows tools I tried ran in the browser and felt shaky. So I made a real Windows app. Your recordings never leave your PC: there are no servers storing your videos, so there is no monthly bill to pass on to you. Pay once, keep it.

Yes. No subscription does not mean no updates. I use Screen Glide for my own promo videos, so I keep improving it as I go: better encoding, smoother edits, and whatever I learn about video along the way. On the list: a mobile version to record your phone's screen, and more editing built in, like transitions and text. You can request a feature or report a bug right from the app, and I read them every day. It stays a side project, so updates come when they are ready, and every one is included in your $10.

$10, once, for one PC. No subscription, no account, and updates are included.

No. You pay $10 once and keep it. Need it on a second PC? Each PC needs its own license.

Record with Screen Glide and use your PC as usual. When you stop, every click is already a zoom: the camera eases in, holds while you work there, and eases back out. You can move, resize or delete any zoom on the timeline.

A PC running Windows 11.

No. Screen Glide is made for Windows, and only for Windows. On a Mac, Screen Studio is the app to look at.

Yes. Pick 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, or one click for X, Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, which sets the shape, size and frame rate. In a tall or square video, the camera follows your cursor across the screen.

No. Recordings stay in your Videos folder, and recording, editing and export all happen on your PC. There is no cloud.

No. Screen Glide makes silent screen clips for posting. Add music or a voiceover in any video editor afterwards.

Yes. Screen Glide records your display, and after recording you crop it to one window, to only the web page in your browser, or to any region you draw.

No.

No. Your videos are yours, with nothing added.

MP4 at 30 or 60 frames a second, up to the size you recorded, 4K included.
